In California there are 6 million students that attend run-down, crumbling schools. However, this can all be changed with prop 51, prop 51 is a helping hand to all the public schools in California that are outdated. Prop 51 can ensure the wellbeing of our students, and help them get a great education. Prop 51 helps them out by repairing the schools, and constructing new buildings so that the students won’t be overcrowded in just one room. Proposition 51 proposes to give public schools a helping hand by giving them $9 billion in bonds, $7 billion will go to the K-12 schools, while the remaining will go to community colleges. While the opposers think just about the money, and how the state will be left in debt, prop 51 will help the California students get a great and safe education. The teachers are teaching their students inside classrooms that are almost falling apart. The author Tim Smith states in the official Voters guide that,“Furthermore, prop 51 will help repair the outdated schools and upgrade classrooms, along with the technology, libraries, and computer and sciences labs”. This means that prop 51 will allow them to use the bonds to upgrade the schools and help them create new classrooms. These classrooms will be equipped with new technology that the students may use for their studies.
