Introduction Conservation, or protection, of land, air, and water resources, is one of the most important factors in keeping agriculture alive and well in America today. In years prior to the 2014 Farm bill, there were over twenty distinct conservation programs, meaning that there were several programs that overlapped each other, and were repetitive in activities and other practices. With over four years of debating, the 2014 Farm Bill was put into place. With that accomplishment, many changes to the Conservation title were created, including, program consolidation and reauthorizing. It assists with soil health and supports the natural cover crop and its ability to recover, causing the soil to be replenished with sufficient nutrients. The reduction of crop land and rebuilding of habitats encourages the growth of wildlife and restores them back to their original population before the removal or destroying of their original habitat. Lastly, the prevention of erosion on cropland and pasture aids in the quality and quantity of the product being produced. Monetary benefits are very important in making the most of all the land and the products. With the CRP program, it allows the farmer to plant a cover crop on their land for wildlife habitats. By doing this it gives back to the natural wildlife habitat. Water conservation is also improved by this program; the amount of water used is almost cut in half due to the increased infiltration and increase in the water holding capacity of the soil by planting different grasses as a cover crop. Water conservation is an important task to farmers because it will cut down on the amount of energy it takes to pump out of the well, therefore reducing the amount of water being used so their water supply will most likely last
