More Specifically, Tucker argues that these systems prepare students for a better future and career by providing common curriculums that produce high expectations. Tucker address, “A common curriculum produces common expectations. Second, common exams set to a common curriculum reinforce high expectations (Tucker 5)”. This demonstrate that a common course of study will allow students to have similar beliefs of high quality.

The Vice President of the Mills Park Middle School National Junior Honor Society is obligated to uphold a substantial leadership status and accentuate the five pillars of NJHS, amidst both their peers and respective communities. Furthermore, the Vice President ought to assist and collaborate effectively with the selected NJHS President. A President and a Vice President that can unite and take on a challenge together, establish an unbreakable bond that reflects remarkably on the society being led. This strong relationship applies not only to the President, but to the other officers and members of the National Junior Honor Society as well. It is the role of an NJHS officer to represent the voices of the students and form a collective opinion.
This committee was necessary as our schools have gone through rapid growth in a world that is constantly changing. I was asked to join as a student member of this committee, and jumped on board without hesitation, remembering all the good that the schools had done for me. As a student member of this committee, I worked with teachers and administration across the school district, parents of kids in the district, and community leaders in both Sartell and St. Stephen to come up with a common vision for the future of our schools and a blueprint to lead us there. The title of the most ‘Disorganized, Sporadically Planned, Disaster of an Event of the 2016-2017 School Year,’ must sadly be granted the 2016-17 National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. As a brand new National Honor Society Inductee, I was honored with the chance to attend this prestigious event and found myself leaving dissatisfied and disillusioned. The National Honor Society is a well-respected and important organization in the academic community, one that students work hard to achieve enrollment in and colleges view with respect and admiration. The Induction Ceremony is meant to honor these students dedication and scholastic work ethic and pay homage to the Honor students that have come before us. After summer break, I returned to Westlake High School for my junior year, feeling as if something was missing. The decision to spearhead the creation of a chapter of the Science National Honor Society (SNHS) at my school arose because of my desire to establish a niche where high school students could express their shared passion for the sciences. The SNHS would provide enlightening scientific activities and opportunities for students, and the Science club would serve as a path to introduce members into the society. I initially proposed the creation of the society in a meeting with the Principal and Board of Education. Quite a few obstacles had to be overcome to start a new organization in the school.
I feel that I should be considered for the National Honor Society Committee for an abundant number of reasons. Though I cannot list all of the reasons why, due to this paper having to be so short, I will give two phenomenal reasons why I should be elected. First, I stay forward-looking while also being straightforward with my education and work. My ultimate endeavor since attending community college has been my involvement in school, specifically with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. As an engineering major I am limited to a diminutive amount of free time, due to the quantity and difficulty of my classes. However, this limitation and the fact that my ride to school is a two hour trip on public transportation, has not stopped me from participating in extracurricular activities. Applying my time management and responsibility skills that I acquired from taking several math base classes at the same time, I managed to become a member of clubs and attain leadership roles. I first became the Vice President of Service, for Phi Theta Kappa and organized service events on campus and outside of campus.
At the end of junior year, a majority of the upperclassmen band members send in applications to become the next leaders of the band during marching season. These leaders are the role models that, as an upcoming senior, I intended to join. I couldn’t understand how I couldn’t get it. I spent hours after performances unloading supplies. I had perfect attendance for every afterschool practice since freshmen year and always turned everything in on time.
I am also a member of our school 's student council. I have been our class president for three consecutive years. Not only is this an honor, but it is also a grave responsibility. I have to take requisite action for certain things, while also considering other people 's opinions in a reverent and positive way. As a junior in high school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society for doing exceptionally well in my academic endeavors and actively participating in volunteer events. My contributions through this organization have made a significant impact on both my personal development and my community’s support services. I have been doing research and prepairing how we could go about fundraising and helping out or community. In this fundraiser, we could help by aquiring Board games and Arts and Craft Kits.
