Pros And Cons Of Wind Turbines

524 Words3 Pages

As of right now, scientists are predicting fossil fuels will run out in 53 years. Therefore we should start turning to renewable energy. For Waunakee, Wisconsin I think we should turn to Wind Energy, Wind Mills, and Wind Turbines. If you live in Waunakee you would know that there are giant wind turbines already on the west side of Waunakee. The wind turbines provide energy for some of Waunakee.

I think wind energy would be the best choice because in Waunakee there's a bunch of farms, for example in north ridge there's the No Name Farm, in Southridge/KilKenny there aren't that many farms but theres open land that nobody has builded on yet. In west bridge it's the same thing as Kilkenny/ Southbridge. If every single farm would give up a little bit of land then we could put a wind turbine in that little bit of land they gave up. Therefore we can put 2 to 3 wind turbines to power each neighborhood powering all of of the neighborhood but as population grows, they are going to add more wind turbines. …show more content…

There also can be places where there aren't that much wind brakes. Which means it would be getting a lot of wind for the wind turbine making it so we get even more energy like it states in the article Bio fuels watch . One of the challenges with this source is that if there isn’t a windy day then there wouldn’t be power for Waunakee. Also, this powerful spinning force could hurt flying animals. And you put them in remote areas and far away from cities where they are needed like it states in energy.gov. And costs about
But on the other hand, the good part about this source is that most days there is a lot of wind, and it is powered by natural resouces so for this (wind turbines) would be wind. It is also very unlikely for flying animals to run into the turbine because, it is very slow moving and most animals are smart enough to not run into it unlike this
