There are many pros and cons to nuclear power, it may help people get jobs and money however, it causes the environment to be unstable and put people at risks. Connecticut should oppose the building of a nuclear power plant. It causes too many risks, though it can benefit the state in a way it harms the state more than it can improve it. Therefore, Connecticut should oppose the building of a nuclear power plant and should not even consider building it.
Nuclear power always carries risks of a major disaster, and is too costly to be competitive. For instance, “The more nuclear power plants are built, the higher the probability of a disastrous failure somewhere in the world is”(Time for Change. Org). As more nuclear power plants are being built the number of disastrous accidents will occur more frequently due to the higher numbers of nuclear power plants. Due to more power plants being built the price will start to be excessively costly, “... nuclear power still costs substantially more than electricity made from wind, coal, oil or natural gas”(Hertsgaard).
