Critical Response 7: The Code of Salian Franks vs. The Code of Hammurabi

The Salian Franks founded a Germanic dynasty and established a set of laws called, “The code of Salian Franks.” “The Code of Hammurabi” was a set of laws made for the Babylonians, who were people of the Middle East. These codes were set up to keep the societies civil and moral no matter than crime. Some crimes however were harder than others. The Code of Hammurabi had much harsher punishments in comparison to The Code of Salian Franks.
The Code of Hammurabi had different types of punishments based on both the crime and social class. Those in the lower social class usually had the harsher punishments
