Movie Analysis The movie Its Kind of a Funny Story tells the story of a teenager going with Major Depressive Disorder who checked himself into an Adult Psychiatric Facility because of his thoughts towards suicide. The movie portrays several psychological disorders especially depressive disorder throughout the course of the film. In any movie like this one, which examines very real issues and disorders, the accuracy of such a film is called into question. Not only is it possible the disorders were shown incorrectly but also the treatments. Using this paper, I will discuss the major points of the movies and the portrayal of the disorders to determine if the movie was accurate in it’s pursuit. Noelle finds out and Craig loses the attention of both ladies. Craig wakes up the next day and skips breakfast. Besides the beginning with Craig contemplating suicide, this is when he is at his worst. He doesn’t want to get out of bed and doesn’t want to eat. We do see him taking medicine.
