Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder is a mental disorder which can occur in anyone that has experienced a traumatic experience. PTSD can occur in anyone of any age. This can happen from any traumatic experience such as war, natural disasters, sexual assault, physical abuse, or any other traumatic experience. About 13 million people suffer from PTSD a year, all from traumatic events. There are ways to help people with PTSD, and ways to help try to prevent it. Although PTSD isn’t the most life-threatening mental disease, it is certainly an important mental disease to care about and treat.
Furthermore, PTSD can be treated and cared for. Even after years of PTSD occuring, it can still be treated, which means it is never too late to care for your PTSD.

The first one is a normal stress response, which is what happens before PTSD begins. Another type of PTSD is acute stress disorder. This can occur in people who have been exposed to or an event that feels like a life-threatening event. If you don’t get help, acute stress disorder can actually lead to PTSD, which will be much worse than just acute stress disorder. The next type of PTSD is Uncomplicated PTSD. Uncomplicated PTSD is a link to one major traumatic event instead of multiple small ones. This can lead to traumatic flashbacks and nightmares. If not treated, it can lead to major life changes, such as relationships and mood changes. Uncomplicated PTSD can be treated through medicine and therapy. Another kind of PTSD, the opposite of uncomplicated PTSD, is complex PTSD. Complex PTSD is triggered from multiple traumatic events, instead of only one. Complex PTSD is commonly triggered from abuse or domestic violence because they are easily repeated. The last type of PTSD, comorbid PTSD, is when you have PTSD and other mental diseases.
