In US History, many have realized that the architectural styles of important buildings can easily describe the priorities, beliefs, and behavior over the course of time frame. That we are presently concentrating on the type of attitudes as well as priorities that the English occupants brought once they arrived in America. When the English colonists first arrived in America, they had a variety of attitudes and priorities, which could be seen in their own architectural design. The English settlers that settled in England region were mostly Puritans who arrived in America this is because they have objected things with English way of life. The Puritans brought along with them their presumption in simplicity and desire; their houses and places of worship reflect their personal beliefs. The Plymouth Plantation is a good example of the way in which Puritan’s showed in their architecture. Plymouth Plantation was constructed by humbly making use of split logs, reeds, and rushes that were grabbed down the shore. As time went on the Puritans realized to adjust to America; they learned that wooden shingles were easier and provide more shielding from the harsh weather conditions, and it was fire resistant. Many families did not want to dwell as simple and humble just like the puritans probably did. At the moment the English household priorities were their families, status, and profit. And hence the new houses, churches, and buildings became more tasteful. The new houses were created with family in mind as their concept; a popular style called end-chimney was designed to have a loft area for multiple people to sleep in to facilitate larger family.
