I read a quote once, “The eyes see only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.”, by Robertson Davies. This implies that you are open to every knowledge that comes in your way. Allowing yourself to accept different possibilities, opportunities, people’s views, suggestions and interests. However, every person has a different way of thinking. The knowledge perused by a person depends on the perception, the language they use, their reasoning and most importantly their emotions. …show more content…

This happens in many other scenarios as well which helps me extract my knowledge issue – “To what extent will somebody’s upbringing have an effect on the manner we pursue knowledge?”
The impact of upbringing on the perception of knowledge can be classified into two parts: - 1. The family life of the knower and 2. The effect of the society in which the knower lives.
A family is the key element of the society. A specific value, standards, rules and regulations and agreements are adopted by the people in the family to conduct their life. It might be negligent to ignore other’s point of views as one wouldn’t have a fuller understanding of other people’s actions and, as a result, would think poorly of others for no reason. Thus, after acknowledging other perspectives, one can shape and develop one’s own perspective with ease. Essentially, the more perspectives acknowledged the better, as one has a balanced set of opinions of both sides. It is like law in the court. For example, “the people of Greek” etc.
However, in opposition to this view, the manner one is raised has no influence on the perception of every area of knowledge like ‘Mathematics and Natural Science”. It can be defined as the science of rigorous proof. It’s a subject matter that appears to charm and alarm plebeians in equal measure, if, for instance, somebody asks you, “what are you most certain of in the world?” you would
