In the previous video I practised particular counselling skills, which when combined, increased the support given to the client. As I provided the client with attention, by having an open body language, nodding and using hand gestures, they continued to speak about the situation and how it is affecting them. I was then able to paraphrase and ask open questions which the client answered, going into further depth as I had, and was, showing that I was paying attention. By challenging the client through questioning, we were able to discuss and identify the main problem for the individual and create an action plan in order for the client to reach their goals, feeling a sense of progression.

This assignment was the first assignment that I have done for the university, so I know I will make a lot of mistakes as I never done similar assignments in my life. At the start of this assignment I though it will be easy and I left it for the last day. This was a big mistake as I didn't get a very good mark on it, but I was still happy with this mark. The mark that I got on this assignment was 44.

In Unit 3, in one of my sections, I had 3 A’s, 11 B’s, 4 C’s, 2 D’s, and 2 R’s. I feel calibrated, and I think that my grades have been fairly even throughout the semester. This particular section did a good job with the persuasive research essay, which is why this time around the class is “B” heavy. Typically, B’s and C’s are the most frequent grades given and I know that this semester the papers have overall been better than in previous semester. I think that this is perhaps because I have a better grasp on what I am teaching, and majority of my students this semester care – I have a lot come into my office hours to talk about papers, get my feedback, and do revisions.
