British History and Society Queen Elizabeth Queen elizabeth is most famous for being named “The Virgin Queen”. She never married during her monarch. She often wore a lot of make up often looking very pale covering up scars caused from smallpox. She often stained her lips and cheeks red. During her rule she also wore many dresses in public appearances often white or black to symbolize purity. No one could be better than her when it came to clothing. Her maids wore designated clothes to compliment her. Because of poor dental care she had taken out rotting teeth and covered it up by stuffing her cheeks with rags.
