Quentin's Influence On Characters In Paper Towns By John Green

In the everyday world one develops and changes over a certain period of time. Every human is influenced by friends all over the world, humans never want to be left out, and everyone would want someone to have their backs. This is part of how the human brain cycle works. In the novel Paper Towns by John Green, the influence of friends positively affects the characters by bringing out personalities, changing peoples point of view and building confidence. “I liked routine. I liked being bored. I didn’t want to, but I did.” (Green 26). Quentin was always the quiet one and avoids any situation at all cost. When he and Margo discovered Robert Joyner’s corpse, Quentin wanted to inform his parents the trouble. Quentin was well adjusted because his parents are therapists. After this problem Margo wanted to figure out mysteries since then. Rather than informing her parents just like Quentin, Margo investigated the scene, she is a curious girl and nothing will stop her. Throughout the novel many people change others views on a perspective. Lacey wanted others to change their views on her. She was at a party and was depressed. She opened up to Quentin how Becca revealed to everyone that she had an STD. Lacey always thought she had false friends because her friends thinks she’s beautiful just like others until Becca backstabbed her and told everyone her secret. “God, I can’t believe I ever told her. I should have just told Margo..” (Green 184). From that day on Lacey realized Margo was her only friend and knew who her real friend was. She wanted to find her real friend, Margo.
