"Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle." The quote from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland describes my current situation well. I’m no special snowflake, just a girl with dreams larger than Jupiter. A girl undecided and excited about the future. I often feel like the famous Alice, falling down a rabbit hole with plenty of time to reflect on what I am to do when I reach my destination. I hope that attending Communication Arts High School will help me with that decision.
I have always been in love with the arts. Creativity is important to me. I’ve told stories all my life and now I’m working on a full-length novel, hoping to get it published someday. Along with my stories I draw character references and sometimes depictions

For example, I have volunteered with my church to raise money to build wells in Africa, so that people there can drink clean water and be healthier as a result. It makes me thrilled that somewhere I’ve helped someone, even though they won’t ever know I did anything.
I took the Myers-Briggs test, and discovered that I have an analytical side. This surprised me, since I am more of a creative person. But surprised as I was, I have found it to be true. I am able to read people, analyzing how they feel and what kind of person they are. This helps me avoid accidentally angering someone when they’re already having a bad day, or comfort someone who’s feeling a bit down.
I want to attend CAHS because I believe it will help me prepare for the future. I think it will help me decide what major I want to go into, since I will be experiencing a wider range of subjects than I normally do. Plus, I want to learn how to communicate better, as it is something that I have wanted to improve on for a long time. All of the careers that I would like to go into have some connection to the communication arts, so it is very important to me to develop skill in that
