Author talks about George Finn, who can calculate calendar. He can tell you instantly what day of the week in a particular date from the past or future. He can also calculate difficult mathematical problems and also remembering the weather for days and years past. George Finn and his identical twins probably the most documented and accurate at calculating the calendar. We should particularly know that all the autistic doesn’t have savant syndrome and all savant people are not autistic. In the movie, Rain Man Raymond Babbitt was autistic as well as savant. He has characteristic like obsession with sameness, odd behaviors, stereotyped mannerisms, avoidance of affection, unique use of language, endless repetition but at the mean time he has savant skills such as memorization, lighting calculating and calendar calculating as well. Dustin Hoffman role as Raymond Babbitt in Rain Man was magnificent, and he got a chance to study and learn from Kim Peek, one another young man who was autistic and Joseph Sullivan. Dustin Hoffman role was accurate and close to the autistic and savant syndrome. What this movie trying to tell us is that autism is biological not psychological.
