Ralph Waldo Emerson was one of the most influential writers who brought a new sense of ideas that easily grabbed the attention of many people during the 19th century. His philosophy was focused on American individualism, seeing oneself as the creator. He believed that each one of us holds the ultimate authority. We have the ability to seeking a prosperous life for ourselves. “To believe that what is true for you in your private heart, is true for all men,-that is genius” (269).
