In the original story of “Rapunzel” written by the Grimms brothers, develops a tale based on the action of thief and the consequences of it. While, the Disney movie “Tangled,” is based on Rapunzel with a twist, about a girl who discovers her origin and goes on an adventure. Both versions of Rapunzel illustrates different morals onto the female figure. The two versions utilize different technique such as imagery, setting, and plot to differentiate the similarities and difference between the original and newer version of Rapunzel. In the short story, Rapunzel, by the Grimm Brothers, there was a man and a woman who wished to have a child of their own. The enchantress raised Rapunzel until the age of 12 when she locked the child away in a tower attempting to hide her from the world; however, the enchantress did not succeed at doing so. One day, the King’s son was riding through the forest when he heard Rapunzel singing. Mesmerized by Rapunzel’s voice, he fell in love with her. The young prince tried getting into the tower but with no doors to get into though, he was unable too. Seeing no other way to get in, the prince settled with visiting the tower everyday. During one of his many visits, he noticed the enchantress chant up to Rapunzel to let down her hair. Complying with her mother figure, she let down her hair and the prince saw this as an opportunity to finally meet the love of his life. The next day, he did the chant and Rapunzel let down her hair thinking it was the enchantress. Once he was pulled into the tower, Rapunzel noticed that it was in fact not the enchantress but a young man. The prince took this as an opportunity to propose to her and Rapunzel
