Regarding Rayan Kalantar Rayan has a history of behavioral problems since preschool age. He was diagnosed with Sensory integration Disorder, gross and fine motor skills delay (penmanship issue), ADHD as well as mood disorder. He has been followed by his child psychiatrist, Dr. Mark Leifeste for the last few years. Dr. Leifeste provides our family with recommendations regarding behavioral management as well as medication for Rayan. In October of 2013, Rayan was placed in Day program at the Children Hospital for period of 2 weeks. Some of the diagnoses were made at that time. He had modest improvement in his behavior. Obviously sleep and food deprivation are major triggering factors of his mood disorder. Rayan is afraid of height and has poor physical abilities. Being at Zip line must have been very stressful as he was not able to catch up with other kids. Rejection by his friend came at the time that he had no control over his impulses. On Sept 26, Rayan visited Dr. Mark Leifeste. He believes that Rayan 's emotional storm has passed. There is no need for hospitalized as he is back to his baseline. He recommended increase in the dose of his mood stabilizer, initiation of psychotherapy and avoiding future events like this with better preparation. Dr. Leifeste felt that Rayan is safe to get back to school and reintegrated in classroom. Over years, Rayan has had many emotional and behavioral issues but we believe his overall path had been in positive direction. We are very sad regarding this event. Rayan is agonizing regarding his inability to participate at school at this time. He is repeatedly asking me “how can I make others to like me”:;<<< followed by “I don 't care”. I believe he is tormented by recent events but has difficulty to understand others point of
