On a warm and sunny winter afternoon, I met Bob and Berta Bower at the Alain Pinel Realtors Offices in Saratoga, an impressive offices nuzzled in the forest lined street. Bob greeted me and escorted me down a long long long corridor to a conference room finely furnished with a mahogany table and fine sculptures. Berta enters the room, Bob smiles....... and introduced her and immediately her warmth and charm shine through. The book’s focus is not about crack, but the situation that brought about the drug business in El Barrio otherwise known as East Harlem. East Harlem is located in Manhattan, New York, and has one of the worst unemployment rates and crime rates. There are many other problems plaguing the area such as drug abuse, poverty, disease and illness.

In today’s workplace technical skills are not enough to keep individuals employed; communication, flexibility, interpersonal skills, ethical work behaviors are additional attributes needed (Robles, 2012, p. 455). Efficiency, effective communication and technical skills are needed in my position for successfully meet every job performance requirement. Customer care agents must have the capability, training and ability to properly complete business transactions, have product knowledge and show empathy when required. A mixture of other skills related to sales or customer care are also required.
I enjoyed reading the chapter because I am interested in being a sports agent myself in the future, as I did my research for the position and talked to some people who were in the field, I found out that it is not the Jerry Maguire-like position people think it is. Post career planning is important when your agent because you are the players representative his guide if you will, for example when athletes go broke you have to also but blame on the agent, why didn 't he help this guy put money in anything else. Scott Pippen signed a 5 year 80 million deal with rockets in 1998 after playing with the Bulls, it 's the agent 's job to say hey Scotty lets take 2 million and buy some homes to rent around the city instead of Pippen being broke and trying to make an NBA comeback in the late 2000s.
