The relationship between men and women has almost always been unequal and oppressive. As stated in the essay, Oppression, by Marilyn Frye: “The word oppression is a strong word. It repels and attracts. It is dangerous and dangerously fashionable and endangered”. Differences between genders has become an increasingly distinct topic with feminism becoming the main topic of discussion. However, as important as feminism is in society nowadays, in played a huge role in the 1980’s especially in the play Real Women Have Curves by Josefina Lopez.
