Some people believe that books should not be banned from schools because they need to learn what happened. The first reason is that the books can be about our history and they used some words that are know bad. In the book Animal Farm “The three hens who had been ringleaders in the attempted rebellion over the eggs now came forward and stated that snowball had appeared to them in their dreams and incited to disobey napoleon 's orders” (Orwell 84).The book Animal Farm by George Orwell is a good book, but on page 84 the leader of the farm murdered 3 hens because they were rebelling to save their kids. Some people think that Animal Farm should be banned for having murder in the book but thats what happened back then during the russian revolution.
Different types of literature open new doors through which students’ can explore the unknown and expand their knowledge of controversial topics. The great examples found in literature have been the subject of much debate, as school boards wrestle with whether children should be allowed to read such difficult, harsh topics, as said in the article “How Banning Books Marginalizes Children” (Source F). There are so many brilliant works of literature spanning a wide variety of genres and topics, and a single school board should not determine what students learn. No one is proposing that second graders read The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, but rather that we intentionally choose literature that will expand, rather than limit, children’s options and minds. Not only do these great works lay the groundwork for our future generation, but they also serve to diversify students’ writing and analysis skills.
Books are banned for various reasons including religious views, racial themes, alternative lifestyles, profanity, sex, violence, negativity, witchcraft, and political views. Banned books even include holy books, like The Bible or The Quran. Even children’s books have been banned; like Green Eggs and Ham by Doctor Suess. Some studies show that making a chapter, or even an entire book challenged is a much more effective way to get kids to read it, rather than making it homework. Even though people challenge books, we do have the right to read what we want.
Although One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is banned in certain places due to its vulgar language and its explicit language, I truly believe that it shouldn’t be banned. Taking away the right to read a book because it’s seen as inappropriate is just such a terrible thing to do. When you read a book you enjoy, you’re able to imagine all the things that are going on as well as let you creative side out. I understand that this book may not be the most appropriate book for anybody younger than 13, but it should still be open. I get how people may think that little kids will get ideas from this book cause of the things it says, but in all honesty, would little kids really read this book?

So why not let them better prepare themselves by reading a more challenging and mature book. Therefore, I believe that school board members should not ban books from the school library because, students can get more of a challenge from certain books, you also can get many life lessons from a more mature book, and students also get more of a choice which means more books to read. So I think it is completely wrong to ban books from the school
