The battle was fought by the U.S. The battle was fought by the U.S. and the South Vietnamese, and it lasted through May 10th-20th, 1969. The generals, history of the war, and effects of the war on the soldiers are very important to know about the battle. There were several reasons why we were in Vietnam. One reason was to limit infiltration. The fight lasted ten days, so they can limit the NV. Since there was so many casualties with the North Vietnamese they dubbed the hill Hamburger Hill, and the original name is Hill 937. Another reason was to defeat the North Vietnamese from capturing the hill.
