American propaganda depicted the reasons for the United States entry into World War II through various forms of media such as cartoons and persuasive documentaries. These forms of media subtly but clearly spread information about the United States' entry being caused by things such as the attack on Pearl Harbor, the horrific spread of fascism, and the Axis powers abusing their authority to eliminate freedoms and install slavery. Firstly, it was clearly expressed in these pieces of propaganda that one of the many reasons the United States joined was because of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Another reason for the United States' entry into World War II was the spread of fascism among the Axis powers. This motive is expressed in the documentary “Why We Fight”. In summary, the documentary states that Germany, Italy, and Japan had exceedingly powerful leaders that had no regard for their citizens and were only driven by “fascist militaristic imperialism”. This motive depicted in the documentary is very accurate because it is true that one of the United States' biggest concerns during this time was German expansion and occupation. German military forces repeatedly attacked U.S. ships, causing the United States to worry about what would happen if they got even more powerful. Therefore, the Axis’ dangerous developments in fascist militaristic imperialism became a motive for the United States to enter the war. A final reason for the United States' entry into World War II was the Axis powers abusing their authority to eliminate freedoms and install slavery. The documentary states that the constitutional law-making bodies in Germany, Italy, and Japan gave up their
