Chris Should Not Have Gone Into The Wild
Chris McCandless overall was a fool for going into the wild the way he did. Chris would have had a better chance of survival if he would have been more prepared, if he would have taken advice from his peers, and if he would have not thought he could do anything without having the skills to actually do it. The first and most important overall flaw with his plan was when he went was he was very unprepared. Besides not bringing the correct supplies he also did not take advice from anyone before putting his life in danger. Another thing he did not do was he didn’t think about the consequences of what could happen from his actions
Chris McCandless did not have the ability to survive in the wild because he did not take enough supplies with him. Also, he did not do enough research on the land before trying to survive off of it. Chris was very unfamiliar with Alaska in general. Chris lived in California, Virginia, and Georgia before he decided to try to live off of the land in the Alaskan Bush. He was not prepared for the freezing cold conditions that are in Alaska. This was shown when he did not even bring boots to wear to walk through the snow. The boots he did have came from the man who he hitchhiked with to get to the spot he wanted to go. The man told him to give the boots back if he made it out

Even the man who Chris got a ride from told him to call him if he made it out alive. This implied that there was a very high chance he would not survive in Alaska, he had aknoledged that his chance of surviving was very slim. Chris had known that many people attempted to survive off the land but only very few had survived. After knowing this he should have rethought about his decision to go risk his life more. The fact that he did not listen to anyone majorly contributed to the reasons the wild killed
