From 1928, when the plan started, to 1932 to its end, many factories, dams, power stations and even cities were being built. Despite there being harsh penalties implemented to workers for failure to meet their targets, there was still a significant increase in Russia’s industrial growth in a very short period of time. Just like the emancipation of the serfs in 1861, under Tsar Alexander II, in protest of Stalin’s policies, the peasants, in protest, refused to work harder than they needed too, causing them to destroy livestock and crops, which eventually lead to their unnecessary death. Stalin, just like the Tsarist autocratic regime, was not committed to collectivism but preferred capitalism in his ruling of the Soviet Union. This caused a lot of rebellion from the Kulaks who opposed collectivism.
This is because Stalin’s rule was oppressive and led to millions of deaths for soviet citizens, and much of it through his own cruel methods. One of the first things he did was to put his communist ideas into place. He developed the collectivization policy which took small peasant farms to form large collective farms. (Document 3) In doing this, Stalin brought all of the farms under the operation of the state, upsetting the kulaks who were the wealth farmers.
This intentional starvation by Stalin killed around 7.5 million Ukrainians. As the evidence shows, the mass famine caused the starvation, the starvation caused the cannibalistic tendencies, the cannibalistic tendencies caused many deaths and the Communists, also caused most of the dissolutions. Likewise, Soviet propaganda revoked the problems of the Ukraine for years. This led to believe Stalin’s psychotic willingness to kill people and get away with it. The propaganda spread into the western hemisphere, consisting of false facts that the famine was completely normal and not outlined.

In history, events of genocide have occurred and humankind has fought to stop them. Such horrific events have occurred across the world; possibly the most horrific event of them all was the Holocaust. Hitler led a dictatorship throughout the entire country of Germany and during this time he had devised a strategy to take over Europe. While ruling his Nazi state and having a world war, Hitler had been running concentration camps secretly throughout his controlled territories. In the camps he had organized a method to systematically eliminate all races he viewed as inferior.

In the speech “I have a Dream”, by Martin Luther King he talks about his opinions on segregation and why it’s wrong. He uses multiple rhetorical devices to make his speech sound more educated as well as get the point across with emotion to the audience. He used different types of diction to make the point that the negro is free and they never will be if we keep segregating towns and schools. Martin Luther King brought attention to that fact that the negro isn’t free because he is still segregated from going into places or working places. He wanted to inform us that the segregation is taking away the human rights that people deserve no matter the color of their skin or their gender.
One country in which a major genocide took place that few people at the time acknowledged was the genocide in the Ukraine which was a forced famine introduced by Russia in which many at the time didn't want to acknowledge as a genocide. This genocide was a forced famine which was put in order by Joseph Stalin who was the new Czar of Russia just after the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924. The death of Vladimir Lenin was a key point in which the people of Ukraine had decided that it was time to declare their independence from Russia. The Holocaust is the deadliest recognized genocide in human history. It lasted from January 30,1933 – May 8,1945 and would result in the l1 million deaths. The causes of the Holocaust begin at the end of World War One with what Germans referred to as “the stab in the back”. This was a myth that claimed the German Army did not loose World War One but was betrayed by the Jewish population who gave up land and supplies to the Allies. As this spread anti-Semitism or hate for Jewish people grew in Germany as people viewed the Jewish population as deceptive and traitorous.
