This supplement is a record of my actions in cases 16-125169 (April10, 2016) and 16-125698 (April 12, 2016). On April 12, 2016 I was assigned case 16-125169 which involves Ms. Mya Navia a fourteen year old Francis Hammond School Student. On April 13, 2016, I was assigned a second case which was 16-125698 involving the same juvenile. On April 13, 2016 I touched base with Arrosa Kanwai (mother) who had previously denied me access to her daughter (16-119375).
The students of Philip Sheffield High School were divided into six divisions; each division was allowed a small section of the yearbook. Upon examining the class photos, it becomes apparent that each class was composed of two divisions. With a class being composed of two divisions each, meant that there as a total of three individual classes. The photos also demonstrated large class sizes, which was a response of more students and less teachers due to poor school budgets. The smallest of the classes was the divisions one and two class, numbering thirty-six
There I explored all of the different STEM fields. From the experience I have developed a love for biology and learning how small things affect larger things in the world around me. The next summer I participated in the Summer Science Research
We first observed artwork made with glass and paintings being created at the studio. Then we visited the ceramic arts area. The instructors taught us how to throw clay, work the wheel, and ultimately how to mold our piece of clay into a basic shape. It was that afternoon I discovered that not only was I very good at this, but I also really enjoyed it! During the field trip, I learned that they offer evening, extracurricular classes.
The demand for education that these children had were different depending upon the level and the ages. the best they way out was to split the class was by age. At different ages, the students had different needs, and the best way to meet these needs was to group everyone of the same age group together. Initially, many of the small schools grouped them together with several ages in one room. Grades 1,2, and 3 would be together, while grades 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 were in another area.
Ms. Vasquez was the newest member of the first grade team at Westside Elementary School. She, along with three other teachers, made up the first grade teaching staff. Three years before Sally’s employment began, the first grade staff “adopted academic progress and social development criteria for determining whether students should be retained in grade” (Kowalski, pg. 59). While Sally was uncomfortable with retaining students, she was not yet confident enough in her position to challenge the veteran teachers. During her schooling, “Sally had been told that the negative aspects of retaining students far outweighed the benefits-a contention that was supported by several research articles she was required to read” (Kowalski, pg. 59).
The various activities required to complete the Administrative Field Experience has made me competent in this field of study. I am confident that the material that I have learned and the activities that I have participated in will allow me to enter an assistant principal role with knowledge and skill to take on the duties, responsibilities, and challenges of an assistant principal. The greatest strength that I will take into the role is my ability to help others. I have a strong belief that my job is fulfilled when and only when I can share my ideas with teachers so they can too perfect their craft.
Work with children Throughout my high school and college years, I have had several experiences with children that have all played a part in shaping my love for working with children. During high school, I spent two summers nannying for two young school aged children. Working with these siblings really made me realize how much fun I have working with children and watching them grow. Once I came to college, I started another babysitting job working with two four year old twin girls.
During our phone conversation you indicated that you have reached out to Danielle Stokes regarding my placement meeting the criteria of the curriculum. If you could share any outcomes of that phone conversation with me, I would appreciate it. I have to admit that I am frustrated and find it unjust that my placement is being called into question and with the responsibility of my field placement choice being placed upon for me for not knowing the class expectations prior to accepting the placement when the placement was approved by the school and by placement specialists who are aware of the foundation year expectations. While, I am frustrated, I will move forward in a positive manner as I enjoy my placement and feel I will grow professionally
Bria S Grissom SOC1001 M/W 6pm 1. I suppose there are some people who are blessed by being born into a wealthy family, thus leading them to have a foundation that creates success. Then, there are others who weren’t born into wealth and did whatever they could to succeed; whether that was going to school to further their education, or working multiple jobs and saving for a better life. Obviously, this is not every situation, and there are people who are considered poor because they have no money, or can’t afford the finer things in life. They may live on welfare or in the not-so-nice neighborhoods.
My PSIII internship was a very rewarding and enlightening experience. I was quickly welcomed into Carseland school not only by my teacher mentor, but by the whole school community. While at the school, I taught grade 3/4; science, math, language arts, health, and gym. I feel I was exceptionally lucky to have taught under my teacher mentor Kelsey Styan. Not only did I find her very welcoming and inclusive, but she was also a resourceful and dedicated mentor.
I started doing my field Experience in Lime Kiln Elementary school where I shadowed Mr. Mikalov, a fifth grade teacher, When I first walked into his classroom it was so colorful and full of artworks, student works and inspirational quotes I felt happy walking into his classroom so I would imagine what a fifth grader would feel like. Mr.Mikalov was very generous in showing me around the classroom where they have their group work, reading area on the rug. He showed me the schedule they follow every week, they do math every day from 12:13 to 12:55 and have lunch every day at 11:26- 12:08 and off course I took a picture of it to know when and what they are doing that time. Mr.Mikalov introduced me to the principal who is very nice and welcomed
The class consists of main teacher, one co-teacher, and 20 students without any special needs or disabilities (14 girls 6 boys). The difference between the general classroom and the special education classroom that was the students very quiet and didn 't make a lot of noise like in the special education classroom. The classroom was very small for 22 students. I was surprised when I entered the general classroom. all the girls in the front and all the boys were back.
Classroom Observations Mrs. Canada is the first grade teacher that I observed, and the subject that she was teaching was reading. She had planned well-organized power points and crafting materials in advance, so she was prepared for the lesson. The two times I observed, the lesson that was being taught at both times was reading. Children in the classroom used a lot of previous knowledge for the lesson.

Professional development is something you will do every day of your life without even thinking about it; however, being aware of the development you learned will allow you to record this and develop in a proffessional way. In order to be effectively in work field and your lifetime, it is important that you need to improving your knowledge and skills continually to keep yourself at high levels of professional competence. When I finished my degree at university and go to work area I found difficulty to deal with problems in work field, because the people I met are think in different way from people where I was at university, it is something like to put someone inside box for long time after that you put it in crowded area and he or she has to communicate with these people in order to be up to date for life changes.
