During Theodore Roosevelts presidency, his interests were focused on foreign affairs. Roosevelt helped prevent Europe from controlling the rest of the western territories, like how Britain tried to control the early American colonies. The “Roosevelt Corollary” allowed the U.S to stay in control of the Western hemisphere. His addition to the Monroe Doctrine helped American imperialism rise and expand. At the turn of the 20th century, his addition helped shape the nation that it is today.
The Progressive Era began in the 1890’s directly after the Industrial Age. Teddy Roosevelt was one of the people who made a huge impact during the progressive era. He was also credited with most of the things that were done in the progressive era. William Howard was another president during this time and he continued on Teddy’s ideas of progression during this time. Although he continued Teddy’s legacy he wasn’t remembered as well.
Theodore Roosevelt, born October 27, 1858 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, was the 26th President of the United States. He was president from September 14, 1901 to March 4, 1909. Roosevelt was married to Alice Hathaway Lee from 1880 to 1884 and Edith Roosevelt from 1886 until his death in 1919. He had 6 children, 2 daughters: Alice Roosevelt Longworth and Ethel Roosevelt Derby, and 4 sons: Kermit Roosevelt, Quentin Roosevelt, Archibald Roosevelt, and Theodore Roosevelt Jr.
The Great Life of Theodore Roosevelt Theodore Roosevelt, born on October 27, 1858, he has had many significant ‘decades’, but his early political career from 1881- 1889 shows more significance than any other. First, he worked through many public service positions . Also, he joined the New York State assembly. Plus, he became a cattle rancher. Others would say that his Political Career didn’t last long at all, he did very little to help out, but that it not true because he did quite a bit to help out even if it was something big or something small he helped out.
From my prospective I think that a lot of presidents made a legacy. A lot of them had made a mark in the world. Its extraordinary how one person can make a change. I could sitting here writing about most of the US presidents and how they have made a mark I our lives but Im not. The one president I believe in my opinion that had made a legacy to me is Theodore Roosevelt.
Currently, at Pasadena City College (PCC), I am a student who is part of the Honors program and is committed to his academics. The Honors program has enriched my learning experience through rigorous objectives and challenging assignments that undoubtedly have contributed to my knowledge, character, and drive. I have, for example, accomplished four honors English courses and done the honors assignments for each: from creating a short story to creating a poem that commemorates The Great War, I have passed the classes with A 's. However, it has been more than the grades, it is also knowledge and wisdom that I have gained in completing the classes. Moreover, at PCC, I have the opportunity to be the treasurer for the Psychology Club, which has taught me valuable lessons on how to run a club and work efficiently with team members.
As it stands I will be a first generation student. This accomplishment is meaningful to me because my parents have invested so much in me to get me where I am today. This accomplishment allows me be a positive role model
It is my desire to attend the United States Naval Academy. My goal is to follow in my father 's footsteps as an officer in the naval branch of our armed forces. My father began his career as an enlisted seaman twenty years ago and is now serving as a Lieutenant. Being the son of a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, I have always had an interest in the military and a desire to also serve and follow his footsteps. It was not until high school when I decided that I wanted to attend the Naval Academy.
My goal with my college degree is to graduate with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and eventually transition into law school within the state of Georgia. After law school, I plan to become a juvenile and immigration attorney in hopes of one day becoming a positive influence and defender for those without a voice. However, as a first generation college student, financially speaking attending college has not been easy. Surviving college would have been impossible without the support of my mother.
This goal is important because it is the end of my “school” journey meaning I have met all the school requirements for my degree with that being said I will have my degrees and certificates so that I can become a midwife. Overall, I wish to attend college to better all aspects of my life. I desire to maximize my potential and work ethic to become better. Being a first generation student will not be easy, for I have no one to tell me about experiences. I am very proud and honored to tell people that I am in college.
Setting smaller goals is nice because they are like stepping stones to my bigger goals. The reason I am so motivated to go to college is because I have the opportunity to be the first in my family to attend college. Seeing my parents struggle with money because they can’t get a decent paying job is one of the reasons I desire to go to college. I know by going to college, and doing what I love, I will be able to enjoy what I’m doing while being able to have a improved life than I had experienced.

When I graduate high school, I plan on having future goals that I plan on achieving. My first goal is to go to college and get a degree. I plan on attending Purdue NorthWest majoring in engineering and minoring in business. This is my number one future goal that I need to accomplish because to be able to have a nice life, I need to go to college to support my future family. My next future goal would be get a starting job to be able to support my future family.
