The service user I chose to assess is a 17-year-old Hispanic female whose modified name is Tiana Santos. I provided therapeutic casework services to Tiana for a year in my previous role as a Therapeutic Caseworker at the Children’s Village, a foster care agency. Tiana was placed in foster care after been removed from her mother’s care due to emotional and physical abuse. Tiana’s father abandoned her mother and her youngest sibling when she was 5 years old. Tiana’s memories about her father were very limited due to her young age.
Ill-Equipped Rescuers Formative Assessment The article “Ill-Equipped Rescuers Digs Out Volcano Victims; Aids Slow Reach to Colombian Town” written by Bradley Graham provides information on the eruption of a volcano taking place in Columbia. Moreover, the eruption caused a major outcry in the city Armero, Columbia leading to the deaths of thousands. Throughout the article Bradley Graham described his sightings throughout his journey from people dying one by one and how the city was completely devastated during this event.
Client is undocumented and she is not entitled to any government entitlement. She panhandles for source of income. Client is not a candidate for Amnesty or Legalization that would allow client to file for legal residence (Green Card). She also reports she is not going back home. She is waiting for Obama Amnesty to secure legalization.
Compare and Contrast The articles about the St. Louis and the Fresno family have many similarities and differences. Some of these similarities are they have both been displaced, they have to adjust to a new life, and of course they're refugees. A few they don't have in common are the years they happened, how many there were, and of course they are all refugees. Lots of refugees that are sent to places have harsh reasons behind them.

The characters, especially men, in Courage Under Fire and Boys Don’t Cry do not accept or respect the characters who have different genders. Camp NaNoWriMo July edition is officially over. Doing NaNoWriMo over this spring and summer has been such an amazing experience that I am feeling melancholy already about it being over. There 's just something about it that is fun, exciting, motivating, and intensely satisfying. As a CASA volunteer, my mom works with neglected, abused, or foster care children alongside their legal aid and the court system. CASA volunteers make sure children do not get lost in the foster care or court system and advocates what is best for the child after spending a lot of time with the child and the other adults present in their life. CASA volunteers are often the one stable adult a child can have in their life. My mom would spend hours a week working to help each kid, whether it just be as simple as taking them to lunch or going to court to speak on the child’s behalf. All of the children were in foster or group homes looking for a stable home.
Bravery, cleverness, and determination are three traits a good leader has. In Homer’s epic “The Odyssey,” Odysseus, the hero in the story, is trying to return home to Ithaca after his victory in Troy. On their way back home, Odysseus and his men hurt the cyclops, Polyphemus, and angered his father, Poseidon. With a god angry at them, Odysseus and his men had to overcome many obstacles. These obstacles led them to strange islands that had goddesses and dangerous creatures.
Another cause of poverty and lack of income is whether or not children are American citizens. “..immigrants from Asia had a poverty rate of 12.8 percent while 21.9 percent of Latin American immigrants were poor.” It is obvious that there is a big difference in poverty between children who were born in the U.S versus children who were born outside of the U.S. This could be due to the fact that it is harder for people who were born outside of the U.S, immigrants, to time find a job. “Among the children of immigrants, poverty rates in 1999 varied from a low of 9.5 percent among non-Hispanic whites to 32.9 percent among Mexicans.”
Timothy’s plan for survival is correct because he is inspiring Phillip to do things being blind because he needs help because he is starting to lose his strength. He is trying to to get Phillip to get used to being on the island and helping him get used to the fact that he is blind and how to work when he is blind. He wants Phillip to learn how to do things on the island when he is blind. For survival Timothy and Phillip will have to have these three things food water, shelter and a fire to keep warm. They will need to do all of these to survive on the island and so they will not die or get really sick.
