I chose “The Third Texas Cavalry” because I am very interested in learning about all that was in the Civil War. This article was an extremely interesting read. AP Scholar with Honor Award, it was presented to me for having completed a rigorous series of college-level courses and exams. President 's Education Award Program was awarded to me during ninth grade for my outstanding academic achievements. University Interscholastic League Scholar Award was presented to me for the Number Sense competition where my team won second place over all.
I became Miss Pre-Alumni for the TSU Alumni Association, elected to be Representative-at-Large for the Student Government Association and then elected again as the Speaker of the House of Student Government Association. In my Student Government positions, I created programs to encourage tutoring within the dorms, health, and new policies for student concerns. Recently, I helped create a new policy that allows proxy voting for voting members along with adding new voting members for various reasons to be allowed to vote. Through the Student Government Association, I learned how to operate through government, create and amending policies, and become a voice for the student body. Academically I was inducted into Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society, Psi Chi International Honor Society, consecutively on the Dean’s List since freshman year with consecutive 4.0 GPA semesters since Sophomore year and am on track to graduate with Honors.
Being able to connect with the community and with my peers will be a valuable and unforgettable experience. Not only will I be able to learn from the community, but from my fellow peers, medical students, high school students, and other undergraduates as well. Getting to me mentored by people who have done what I want to do will be enriching, it’ll be an experience that ill cherish forever. Creating long lasting friendships with people who have similar interest.
For years I have dreamt about getting into my favorite college. The rush I would get as my school’s football team ran out of the tunnel. All the new people I would meet that would become my friends for life. It is now November of my senior year and I have decided to go to Colorado State University.
Throughout my high school career, I have taken opportunities to be an active community member through community service. Service that I have participated in has given me experience being a mentor and educator. As a link Crew leader, I volunteered my time to help the incoming freshmen in my community/ school district assimilate into their new environment. I went to training, followed a link crew curriculum, guided them in activities, offered advice, and served as a role model for the students. I helped them feel welcome and prepared to take on high school.
Through the experience of working as youth leader for freshman connection I have grown as a better leader. To help incoming freshman was incredible experience for me. I joined freshman connection to serve school and defiantly to get knowledge and team building skills out of it, so that it can help me make my college experience better. I think I have achieved all the goals that I wanted to through working as youth leader. Additionally, not only that but also to work on community service project on bullying has really allowed me to serve as teacher helper.
Reflective Analytical Account. The aim of the lecture was to explore the role of Compassion within SCPHN practice. Throughout the session we followed and discussed the Francis Report, the Compassion In Practice (6C’s) strategy and the 2016 nursing strategy.
Being an active member within my school community is something that has always been of importance to me. During my time at the University of Rhode Island (URI), I have been heavily involved in many organizations and have held different leadership roles all while excelling in my academics. Since my time at URI I have been a consecutive member of the Dean’s List with a GPA of 3.83. Although I am very passionate about my academics, it is my involvements and leadership roles that make my time so enjoyable. I am s second year Resident Advisor as well as a second year URI 101 Mentor.
.On any given day there will be a group of students working on their associates degrees that have been there long before I started to attend Wayne County Community College. They are a little older than I am, most being around the age of 23. They spend their time playing video games while I stand mind going to class. I consider this group to be friends but I am scared this is what my future will be like if I remain at this institution.
With all the pressure to recognize that they have a substance abuse problem, they choose detox and treatment, people with drugs or alcohol know that rehabilitation is just a stone. But many have had the opportunity to regain their normal lives and get rid of the available treatment options. Money, mindset, and obligations are all things that make people feel the way to take action to see what options they can use. Words such as ambulatory hospital patients and clinics are often mentioned in brochures and rehabilitation facilities websites, but for many, these are just words. The meaning behind them is often not included or clear, which makes the decision process a lack of direction.
The support of my school equipped me with the courage to enter in my new venture with confidence. The Community College of Denver (CCD) opened the first door of my enduring dream. School is giving me like minded people, great professors and a culture that thrives in diversity, they are opening my mind and my being to unimaginable possibilities. Nevertheless, I have big dreams, I am aiming to a PhD in Anthropology and Social Change at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). I see myself researching and teaching better and more effective ways to connect.
My eyes automatically drifted to the tall bright palm tree that moved along with the rhythm of the wind. It’s leafs danced as they presented their welcome. The sun shined down and hugged me with warmth, giving my skin a tingling, but satisfying sensation. I had come from Virginia to California, the famous, constantly spoken of state, that finally reached my sight. The state presented its beautiful attributes to capture my wonder and mesmerization.
It was at this exact moment when I experienced my watershed moment. It was at this exact moment when I realized how even the things that we hate doing the most, are absolutely necessary to us because they define who we are as a person. I realized the issue with my life was not that I wasn’t intelligent, or that I was untalented at gymnastics, or that I had poor multitasking skills or an inability to cope with stress. My issue was my inability to want to get the best out of the advantages that the sport brought me. I had lived my entire life without realizing that all the work that I was putting into the gym was to eventually gain something greater.
Reflection By studying American Romanticism, we are able to learn that American literature allows its readers to understand transcendentalist views which led to individuals in American society to realize that everyone perceives the world differently. In American literature, individuals are able to understand the values of transcendentalism in which it illustrates the importance of nature, self reliance, and individuality through essays such as “Walden” by Henry David Thoreau, and Ralph Waldo Emerson’s essays “Nature” and “Self-Reliance”. In Henry David Thoreau’s essay “Walden” he says “ life never the bone where it is sweetest.” This quote suggests the importance of individuality due to the fact that we do not need to change to make others satisfied because we are only truly happy when we are able to accept ourselves.
