One of the most stressful things of any high school students career is taking the SAT, or the ACT. There are advantages and disadvantages of both tests depending on your abilities. For example, the ACT test questions are more straightforward ,whereas the SAT questions take a little more thought to understand what the question is saying (Princetonreview). On the other other hand, the SAT test is given in ten sections that revolve around subject areas, and the writing portion is given at the beginning of the test. The ACT writing, which is optional yet required by a lot of schools, is at the end of the test and could be a disadvantage if you are feeling very tired.
The Benefits of Taking AP Classes in High School Why spend hours doing homework in college, when you could have done it in high school? “The Advanced Placement program has revolutionized high school classrooms around the United States. The program offers rigorous, college-level education to motivated students, and offers the benefit of college credit.” (Mattimore A33).
I am competitive; I look for the chance to run the extra mile. My competitive nature has aided in everything I commit myself to. Regardless if I am participating in a sporting event, competing for a solo in a musical production, or preparing for a final, I will indubitably devote my time and efforts to perform as well as possible. I take every opportunity that is presented to me and attempted to better not only myself but my community as well. I am confident that the Honors College at the College of Charleston will enable me to devote my attention to my studies, become actively involved within campus activities and academic assemblies, and offer my time and abilities to charitable events and organizations.
As students start their senior year of high school there are many changes in their life. This is the time of a student’s life when they decide what they want to do after they graduate high school. Students can decide to join the military, work, or continue their education at a college or university. For the students who continue their education they have many things to do before they finally get accepted. A common step they take is taking the The American College Test (ACT) and the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT).
SATS and ACTS have been used for numerous years as a way to gauge a student’s academic success while in college. Students have the choice which test they would prefer to take and most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. There are a few key differences between the SAT and ACT, which may make one test more suitable than the other for those taking the tests. Many studies have proven that the SAT and ACT are not the best judge of future success, and that colleges should focus their applications more on past grades and accomplishments to decide which students should be accepted to their university. SATs and ACTs are not an effective measure of college readiness and future academic success.
Hey what is up graduates of 2022. I'm surprised you made it this far, no I'm just kidding but you are going to be in highschool and that is kinda scary. I have learned a lot from my past and I´ve made some mistakes in the previous grades but I have learned from them and I think we all have. According to Prep Scholar, the nation’s average English score on the ACT is about a 20.4. Which is the lowest average on any subject. A reason this low score happens is because they are reading things they do not care about. Being high school students, we both had our worst scores on the English portion of the ACT test. We really believe that this class would increase students reading and english knowledge because it is something they truly care about.
Progression over the Semester After completing Honors English 126 in the Fall Semester of 2018, I thought I had learned all there was to know on how to become a good writer. However, after taking English 211, I soon discovered there is more to expand on and learn in the writing process. Throughout the course of this semester, I learned how to properly set up and write an annotated bibliography, how to organize my work better, and how to critically think about my paper topic. Coming into this course, I had some prior experience setting up an annotated bibliography.

Ever since grade school, I was passionate about working in the field of medicine, and science. I enjoyed anatomy, medical spelling and terminology, and reading about the healthcare industry. Because of my passion for healthcare, I decided to to attend Health Sciences High. There, I was given the best opportunities, such as, medical internships and college health courses. My plans and goals had turned me into a mature young adult.
This semester has been an ongoing challenge for me but has been an enjoyable one and I have not been presented with any impossible tasks. I have never been much of a writer, and during the course of this semester, I 've struggled to meet length requirements on the assigned essays. However, I do understand that not everyone is an excellent writer or even has to enjoy writing to get a good grade in this 1A class. From the start, with the first essay, I pushed myself to do my best and looked to multiple outlets to polish my writing, such as the online tutor, the writing center, the internet and the writer 's handbook.
Academic success to me is achieving good grades and understanding the material to get good grades. Academic success also means to have an good attendance. I already get mostly A’s and B’s, but I am not good at staying on top of things. To improve my academic success I will attend class more often, be more organized, pay attention in class, and not procrastinate.
It is not an uncommon occurrence for a parent to approach me to ask me about the methods I use to get good grades. They always seem to assume I dedicate countless hours to formulating study guides and reviewing material. They believe the only way to reach “my level” is to sacrifice sufficient sleep and a social life. This, however, cannot be further from the truth. I earn my good grades without sacrificing other important aspects of my life by planning ahead, collaborating, and using efficient study methods.
