The Effects of My Learning Throughout the semester, I was able to learn an immense amount of knowledge and skills that aided me in becoming an exceptional writer. And in this English course, I was able to practice the different skills that we learned, allowing me to become confident in my ability to apply these skills to writings outside of the course. This course highlighted the weaknesses that I had as a writer, and it demonstrated the various ways in which I could improve on these weaknesses. As a result, I was able to apply what I learned from the English course in my Zoology class to create an acceptable honors project reflection paper. Initially, when I began to write the paper, I often overlooked an important step which was to outline the entire essay before starting the rough draft. As a result, I often found myself with a piece that was disorganized, but after this English course, it became evident to me that an outline is an essential tool for writers like me to utilize. Evidentially, Not only does an outline allow writers to plan out their ideas, but it provides writers with a visual representation of their paper before they write the actual copy. From previous essays, I have found that I have difficulty applying appropriate transitions which can substantially affect the quality and coherence of my paper. Consequently, I used the handbook often to review the tips that pertained to transitions.
