Reflective Essay On Time Management

Over the course of four school days, I used two techniques to help better manage my time. The first technique I used was the use of a daily schedule / planner. Often times I became overwhelmed with the amount of work I had due, so being able to assort them and plan a specific time for each subject each day helped me manage my schoolwork better. My second technique was spaced studying. Before, I tended to cram a day or two before a test or a quiz. This led to me not retaining any of the information since I was trying to learn the material over a short period of time. Additionally, I became stressed out since studying for long sessions right before a test didn’t give me any room for my mind to breathe. With these 2 techniques, I hope to see an improvement in my time management. Day 1 (Tuesday) My first goal was to begin studying for my chemistry quiz on Friday. I planned to study for 15 minutes at 2:30 p.m. when I had a free during 9th period. My second goal was to complete my English reading up to page 85 by Thursday. I planned to read 15 pages today at 2:45 p.m. right after I finished reviewing for Chemistry. When the time came to actually do it, I think I was pretty successful. I physically marked my planner to assure I wouldn’t forget and I made sure that the actual work I had to do wasn’t too lengthy since I split my work up over multiple days. My problem wasn’t the actual work itself, but rather starting it in the first place. I’d often procrastinate and put it off
