As an undergraduate student, I am still a novice in the field of psychology. To improve and become more accomplished in the Teaching and Training pathway, such as the position of a psychology teacher, I could read more journal articles and expand my knowledge of studies, treatment, and terminology. Additionally, an area of needed improvement is my public speaking skill. While I am most comfortable communicating in a one-on-one or group setting, I find my limited experience with public speaking to be a detriment. As a result, I speak quickly and may communicate ineffectively.
When it comes to writing essays, everyone is unique in their own writing style. This means that each individual person has their own successes and failures within their writing. If someone grades or peer edits my paper, it gives me the opportunity to understand how I can improve my writing. Over the course of this semester, I have written many papers that have allowed me to recognize the successes and failures in my writing. When someone takes a writing class like this, they are able to identify what they are skilled at, if anything, and what they need to improve upon.
The main thing I learned from Public Speaking was that in certain environments you have to change your actions. This course helped me to better understand how I should talk and present things in a timely and professional manner. The most helpful thing for myself in Public Speak was the peer reviews and the student evaluations. The peer reviews helped me because others pointed out specific details in my speeches that I needed to fix. It helps when more than one person reads a piece of writing because every person in the groups picked out a different error.
It gives examples, and show how you can quickly fix you mistakes made in a paper by just rereading the paper. I plan to use this book as well as other resources in the future to improve my future papers. Not only the books but my graded papers. With all the resources I have, I believe I can receive a better grade and have a better paper. Feedback is the main resource for a writer because it is the best way to see what you may have missed.
Writing process analysis Working on this paper was a little different from working on the last paper that I handed in. I definitely feel like I took my time fixing and improving my paper this time around. I read paragraph by paragraph going over each paragraph with a detailed eye over and over. I took each comment that was written to me seriously. This helped me improve my writing and allowed for my central claim to be clear to the reader.
Over the this past semester in freshman composition I have learned how to write a college level paper. Going into this class, I was a little unsure and scared that I wasn’t going to be able to do the things that were required for me to do. As the semester passed I could definitely see a change in my writing. I learned how to use the appropriate punctuation, how to write and refute an argumentation paper, which I believe is my strongest piece of writing and how to research and gather information to write a strong research paper. I knew coming into this class that I was going to struggle with my punctuations, word choice, and the overall flow of the paper.
I have always found writing hard but now I enjoy it more. I 'm not going to lie and say that it 's easy for me because it 's hard. I get lost with my thoughts a lot. What I say sounds way better then when I put it down on a paper. I have been wanting to write a small book of something.
Writing has always been an issue but yet interesting subject of mine. As hard as I try and write essays, and papers I just can’t get the hang of writing. But after taking this class, I did learn different writing technique and improved my writing proficiency, material body of formatting, and how to uncovering and properly use sources. Through class exams, essays, and a research paper, I was able to learn new writing skills. Although I have learned a variety of things, my writing still needs improvement.
I know every writer has had trouble writing at some point and they all had to improve so I hope this is my time to improve my writing. I can say without a doubt that I have made a grave mistake. I just enrolled in this class to try to get a head start on writing for college and to try to improve my writing skills which I don’t have much of in the first place. I can already tell that the next two quarters might or will be awful, but I have to take this class to be able to take Composition I and Composition II. I have no other want or need for writing except for college I have no further plans to try to involve writing in anything I do, the faster I can get it away from writing the better.
What does writing mean to me? Writing means getting people engaged in your piece. It means people wanting to keep reading what you wrote. The biggest thing about writing to me is expressing your thoughts and letting your mind go. Using good word choice and having a strong voice in the writing is something that makes it good.
I am going to start by talking about my past writing experiences and English classes in general. From a young age I was pretty challenged in activities like reading and writing. As I continued on my educational path and receive more help in these areas I got a lot better. Around fifth grade I began to excel in my reading and writing abilities and my teachers helped me a lot with this. I decided to take the basic educational path in seventh and eighth grade for the English area.
Writing essays and other types of posts has always been difficult for me. But, throughout this composition class, I have learned many interesting and new things about the different types of writing styles. When starting this class, I considered myself to be an average writer with run-of-the-mill vocabulary, ordinary sentence structure and typical finished products. This class has helped me greatly improve my writing skills in a variety of ways. I have learned multiple things by taking this class, such as new ways to approach writing and that there is much that I still need to learn about composition.
This semester has been an ongoing challenge for me but has been an enjoyable one and I have not been presented with any impossible tasks. I have never been much of a writer, and during the course of this semester, I 've struggled to meet length requirements on the assigned essays. However, I do understand that not everyone is an excellent writer or even has to enjoy writing to get a good grade in this 1A class. From the start, with the first essay, I pushed myself to do my best and looked to multiple outlets to polish my writing, such as the online tutor, the writing center, the internet and the writer 's handbook.
Academic success to me is achieving good grades and understanding the material to get good grades. Academic success also means to have an good attendance. I already get mostly A’s and B’s, but I am not good at staying on top of things. To improve my academic success I will attend class more often, be more organized, pay attention in class, and not procrastinate.
