Reflection On My Kuder Career

Based on my Kuder Career Interests Assessment Report, the top five career pathways are Professional Support Services, Teaching and Training, Family and Community Services, Counseling and Mental Health Services, and Legal Services. I am most interested in the Professional Support Services, Teaching and Training, Family and Community Services, and Counseling and Mental Health Services as these pathways lead to careers that have meaningful effects on the lives of others and pertain to my goals. On the other hand, I am less interested in the Legal Services pathway as the topic is unfamiliar and less appealing to me. Ideally, my ultimate pathway would utilize my education and experience in a career, which positively impacts the lives of others through the instruction and therapy of psychology related services. Therefore, the specific careers provided on the website that I find interesting are instructional coordinator, psychology teacher, and educational counselor. As an undergraduate student, I am still a novice in the field of psychology. To improve and become more accomplished in the Teaching and Training pathway, such as the position of a psychology teacher, I could read more journal articles and expand my knowledge of studies, treatment, and terminology. Additionally, an area of needed improvement is my public speaking skill. While I am most comfortable communicating in a one-on-one or group setting, I find my limited experience with public speaking to be a detriment. As a result, I speak quickly and may communicate ineffectively. To improve and become more competent in the Family and Community Services pathway, in a potential health educator career, I could practice public speaking more often and steadily increase my communication
