In the play “the diary of Anne Frank” by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett Mr. Frank, father of Anne Frank shows qualities such as control, patience, a positive attitude, and confidence in his decisions that he made and the way he interacted with the other people in the Secret Annex to show that he is a good leader. Mr Frank kept the people in the Secret Annex safe for a long time with his outstanding leadership during the Holocaust. For example, Mr. Frank showed great leadership when Mr. Van Dann tried to steal bread from the cabinet instead of Mr. Frank being furious he told everyone to celebrate because the concentration camps were beginning to be liberated , “for two long years we have lived here side by side. We have respected each
Upon first read one would argue that Adolf Hitler presents a very strong argument, however, a closer examination would reveal the many false analogies used. False analogy is one of the many devices used in persuasive writing and is often used to express one’s opinion. His arguments were very descriptive and this was a ploy used to give his audience something to relate to. For instance, he used common facts and compared it to something relatable in hopes of establishing a connection. The flaw of this technique is that it lacks proof ultimately weakening the argument’s credibility.
Hitler exhibits many of these universal traits. First, Hitler was a very manipulative person. He manipulated almost all of Germany into thinking that the Jews were bad for their economy, and in doing so, persecuted countless numbers of Jews. Second, during the Olympics, he portrayed himself as a father figure. Before events , he would have girls of the Aryan race give him flowers and salute him, to show his fatherly manners.
Eleanor Roosevelt, mentioned Adolf Hitler when she wrote,” If we examine Hitler’s rise to power, we see how the chains are forged which keep the individual a slave and we can see many similarities in the way things are accomplished in other countries. Politically men must be free to discuss and to arrive at as many facts as possible and there must be at least a two–party system in a country because when there is only one political party, too many things can be subordinated to the interests of that one party and it becomes a tyrant and not an
Today the world is so focused on how we dress and how we do stuff in the society. I am going to talk about leaders who are effective in today’s society but in the book Lord of the Flies too. I am also going to mention who I would have followed if I was in the book Lord of the Flies. Leadership is a very big and important role to come by in today’s society. Most people say they can be good leaders but in reality they don’t really play out to make a good leader.
In addition, maltreatment of Jews in Germany was encouraged, praised, and considered necessary for the country to attain its lost power. King’s ability to reinforce his argument in a refined manner with factual evidence becomes the key stone to building his
Hitler an example. Fair makes the old brin reel, doesn’t it? Food for thought there.”” (Kesey, 238). In this quote, Harding mentions that being mentally ill could give them more power over others, while also making reference to Hitler, a man that had a crazy ideology with immense power over Germany in the past.
“To be a leader means to be able to move masses” (Adolf Hitler). The quote epitomizes both the Nazi party in Germany and the World State in the novel ‘Brave New World’. The Nazi’s and World state exercised propaganda to gain dictatorship and control over their people. It is not difficult for one man or society to dictate millions with the help of advanced technology and propaganda techniques. The propaganda techniques like card stacking, glittering generalities, and plain folks are used in the propaganda of the Nazi party(Adolf Hitler) and the World State .
This applies to Hitler because he was both feared and loved by many. Germany was not in good shape after WWI and when Hitler came and assured the people recovery, they could not refuse. In the end Hitler brought down the unemployment in Germany from 7 million to only 1 million in 12 months. Hitler knew how he could maintain his leadership, because one thing he knew was that he was feared by his enemies/opponents.
Hitler always had a deep desire for power. When Germany was in an economy a political crisis, Hitler saw this advantage for him. Aldof Hitler was short-tempered, strict and brutal. And Hitler is responsible for the death of millions. Like Macbeth, Macbeth killed the innocent to keep his rise of power.
Hamlets manic-depressive state displayed throughout the play would be the trigger of the series of events that concludes with the death of the principal cast of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Hamlet's depression strums from the untimely death of his father, King Hamlet. The death sends Hamlet into a manic state which would create a domino effect on each character in the play.
In the light of the aforementioned characteristics of totalitarianism defined, Hannah Arendt claims that totalitarianism is incomprehensible since it is not possible to judge or predict its actions through any traditional, legal, moral or common sense (Arendt, 1953 : 303). Therefore, Arendt evaluates the regimes under Hitler and Stalin rule “not only wicked but also senseless, of a kind that could not be deduced from humanly comprehensible motives” (Canovan, 1999 : 25). Arendt aims to offer an intellectual constraints for the analysis of Hitler’s
Joseph Goebbels adored Hitler so much and did everything possible to make Hitler content. Use of propaganda
Introduction Human history is abundant in examples of individuals who have amassed such power with themselves that have allowed them to control entire populations, and often unleash tyranny and oppression upon millions of people. Throughout history there have been individuals who have held an iron grip over entire nations, concentrating totalitarian power with themselves, denying any freedom to people, crushing any form of dissent, and often unleashing mass violence, terror, and in some cases genocide. These people have shaped the future of peoples, regions and continents, starting wars and conflicts, and determining the course of millions of lives. And because of this very fact, that a single person could such a huge impact over the lives of so many people, it is very important to study the very factors that caused these individuals to make the decisions that they did, specifically, the factors and that shaped up the personality of these
Who would have ever thought that a simple dictator could have so much in common with a pig from a book. It’s quite silly actually to think about it almost makes it seem like it 's a common thing for a dictator to make decisions like these. Though the things that Putin and Napoleon did are very weird both of them did it which makes it seem like it actually isn’t that weird especially for two dictators to do. No matter how common it is for dictators to pull stunts like the examples that have been given it is wrong nonetheless. As this essay is being written it is questioned, why is it that most dictators do terrible things and why isn’t their a dictator doing something good for a
