Jaylin Wilson Ms. Morris English 12- 1st Period 5 December 2016 The Good and Evil in Macbeth In the tragedy, Macbeth, the good and evil shows a relation between the killing of characters throughout the story. It was evil that the characters are being killed, but it was good for the other characters that did the killing. The killing of the characters made a process to help the main character, Macbeth, in a good way and a bad way. He was the main person to make the killing to become King of Scotland and remain there. In Macbeth, the good and evil shows a relation between the killing of King Duncan, the killing of Banquo, and the conflict between Macbeth and Macduff. In the killing of King Duncan, good and evil showed a relation in Macbeth. It was evil that Macbeth killed King Duncan with the guard’s daggers, but it is good that he became king after that. When Macbeth sent the murderers to kill Banquo, it was evil to do it for no reason, but it was good that he did not get told that he killed King Duncan. The author types,“The Murderers are street thugs. Some opportunities for comedy in early scenes, but should be downright terrifying in a fight. Hired hands who work as Macbeth 's personal assassins” (General OneFile 1). Instead of Macbeth killing Banquo, he hires murderers to kill him. Macbeth wanted Banquo dead because he did not want Banquo to be the one to say that he killed King Duncan. The author says, “He tries to defend his father when they are attacked but is not old enough or skilled enough. He just manages to escape with his own life” (General OneFile 1).
