Of Mice and Men is a book that is great for showing relationships. It shows how we as humans can rely solely on one person and how we can’t do anything without them. It shows how even if we do something awful, the people on the other end of those strong relationships will stick by us. Of Mice and Men truly is a great example of this, as it shows the very strong and very loyal relationship between George and Lennie. These two stick together always and make sure they are both happy and staying out of trouble. Of Mice and Men has a great deal about friends and relationships. Everywhere in the book it showed that someone had someone else to go with. I think this ideology of relationships can really connect with everyone because almost everyone has a relationship with someone, and that is shown in the book. At many points in the book, if someone messed up or something got out of hand, if the person had a relationship with someone else there then it usually ended up being resolved or at least the person had someone on their side. This is shown a lot with George and Lennie especially. It shows that whenever Lennie messed up, George’s relationship with him was strong enough that he would stick with him. It shows how even people who really don’t need to react badly to something, will react bad just because they can. It shows how we as humans always need to be careful about how we react to stuff and who we deal with. A great example of this in the book is when Lennie first grabs the girl's dress in Weed. Really by grabbing it he did nothing to her, but she reacted badly. This, in my opinion, is a different situation than with Curley’s wife. With Curley’s wife, Lennie grabbed her hair, which would’ve hurt her. With the girl in Weed, Lennie just grabbed her dress and it didn’t really affect her at all.
