Due to the change of our society, the way we view relationships have changed for the better. In the 1900’s, men viewed their wives more as their property and not their life partner. “I want a wife to take care of my children,” (Brady 340) is a prime example of men giving the wife the responsibility to watch the children so they could go off and do what they want. Unfortunately, I see why Brady said this because my Grandpa was the same way.
