There are many different themes exemplified by Ellen Raskin throughout The Westing Game novel. An important theme in the novel is relationships. All of the heirs have different relationships with one another, but Turtle and Sandy's relationship was consistent until the end of the novel. They first met on page 7, where Sandy tells Turtle, Doug, and Theo a story about Sam Westing. Sandy and Turtle never connected then, but later in the novel they have the strongest relationship out of all the heirs. On page 154, Turtle has a cavity, and Sandy offers to take her to the dentist.
