He also says that because the consumer is experiencing what the expert and planner want them to, it means that they are being cheated or are missing out because they are being told what to see and experience. This causes the consumer to see and experience things through the lenses of the expert and planner. This takes away the ability of letting the consumer experience things how they would like or want. The whole concept of Nick Sousanis 's comic "Unflattening" pertains to how one can see different things and read the social world. While the social world of mankind is shaped based on the choices our ancestors made, do social patterns and behaviors really have to be a certain way? Perhaps, there is a flatness not yet scene that allows for this blinded vision and machine like operation which does not question repetition. A main focal point being stressed. Essentially, a main point Sousanis wants us to note is this: (1) change our perception in things, (2) changed perception creates a change in action, thus (3) a change to the world.
A huge sum has been invested, so now it is really crucial for the product to succeed. Moreover the current product mix is not sufficient to bring long term profits for the company. As far as short term goals are considered, management wanted a successful launch for the product which will provide the right marketing and target of the new product line. While the long term goals involved adding variety and diversity to the product line to achieve a long term sustainable growth rather than just achieving short term

Kenji Yoshino is and Asian-American openly gay law professor who wrote about covering as a gay man and throughout other minority groups. Throughout his book he elaborates on the forced covering he had to deal with to fit in. After Yoshino first “came out” gay, he was not one to flaunt “being gay”. He was considered a gay who covered who he was and he believed there were four ways a gay could cover: appearance, affiliation, activism, and association. Yoshino believed the appearance-based covering, is to assume gay men as being feminine, which is a stereotypically association.
Samuel Seium. I have been generally satisfied with the content in class, books, and articles. However, I believe that in order to explain racism to a group of people who might not notice it or believe that it exist would need the historical context to it. I noticed that these books or articles left out how America got to that point to beginning with, which can possibly leave some people confused about racism and how it works. For example, the Helm’s book talked about White people as a whole but left out the fact about when Italians, Polish, Greeks, and germans became classified as White and why.
A few acts of Nel’s rebellion towards her mother are visible in the novel. When Helene and Nel go to visit Helene’s mother and her ill grandmother to New Orleans, Helene accidentally enters the white section of a train and a white conductor banishes her from there in an impolite way. Then, for no earthly reason, at least no reason that anybody could understand, certainly no reason that Nel understood then or later, she smiled. Like a street pup that wags its tail at the very doorjamb of the butcher shop he has been kicked away from only moments before, Helene smiled.
The first time I heard about the great Frida Kahlo was in my AP Spanish class during my Sophomore year of high school. Her unibrow and enigmatic look piqued my interest before her paintings did. “The Mexican portrait painter was truly an influential artist who combined traditional themes with a contemporary style and also helped to promote the role of women in the art world” (kahlo.org). I researched about the artist and learned she lived a very painful and turbulent life. Kahlo’s works are often a reflection of her experiences as a woman.

Tom Shadyac takes a new and unique perspective on what is wrong with the world. Some of the topics discussed are controversial and lacking concrete evidence and depth to back it up, however, the overall message of the documentary is heartwarming and something most can relate to. Humankind has a fundamental drive to help and empathize with one another. Humankind has lost some of its fundamental morals that have been followed for thousands of years. One of the main points that his movie boils down to is money does not buy happiness and he is a prime example.
(Argument) When any person sells something that might benefit another, there will be competition, and the economy will benefit from it. (Document) It is human nature to challenge everything, and, as people, they will find a “need for improvement in everything” (Doc 6). (Analysis) This quote says that no item or object is produced perfectly in one person’s eyes.
The growing concerns of consumers about sustainable products and services lead to legislative amendments and to new products and services that follow the regulations or have a pre-emptive role (Slavova, 2014). The purpose of legislation is to protect the consumers by set prices for consumer goods. Therefore, there will be better quality products, more choice and innovation, all of that is for consumers own benefits. Consumerism influences people’s characters causing poverty.
