The Middle Colonies are located in between the New England and Southern Colonies. The Middle Colonies consist of New York founded in 1624, Delaware in 1638, Pennsylvania in 1643, and New Jersey in 1660. These four colonies were different, economically and socially, in many ways because they got a mix of the other two colonies and made it their own. New York was founded the British acquired more land from the Dutch. New York was called New Netherlands and was ruled by the Dutch governor Peter Stuyvesant before the British took it over.
Before the Commonwealth was settled by Europeans, the area was home to the Delaware (also known as Lenni Lenape), Susquehannock, Iroquois, Eriez, Shawnee, and other American Indian Nations.[17] Both the Dutch and the English claimed both sides of the Delaware River as part of their colonial lands in America.[18][19][20] The Dutch were the first to take possession.[20] By June 3, 1631, the Dutch had begun settling the Delmarva Peninsula by establishing the Zwaanendael Colony on the site of present-day Lewes, Delaware.[21] In 1638, Sweden established the New Sweden Colony, in the region of Fort Christina, on the site of present-day Wilmington, Delaware. Fisher’s book, The Quaker Colonies: a chronicle of the proprietors of the Delaware, discusses the process of setting up Puritan colonies, and the hardships and troubles they overcame. Fisher was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1856. It was written for the Yale Chronicles of America Series, which was written by expert historians such as himself. He wrote this book to share his knowledge of his hometown, or perhaps to share what he had previously learned. He describes the founder of Pennsylvania, his difficulties, his adventures, and the way of the Puritan life.
The geography of the Southern Colonies featured rich soil. Coastal plains, forests, rivers and swamp areas were perfect for farming. The economy was heavily depended on timber, fish and, farming. Also, they were exported agricultural products to other colonies. Similarly like Middle colonies in the Southern colonies free people had religious freedom.
The Formation of a Society on Virginia’s Eastern Shore closely examines the development of an early settlement after the demise of the Virginia Company in the seventeenth century. James R. Perry does not research the Eastern Shore of Virginia in a conventional way. The goal of the author was to show how the society in Virginia developed through analyzing the relationships created in a networking pattern. Through analyzing court documents and landholdings of individuals in the Eastern Shore, the reader gains a sense of how these individuals helped shape the community by the exchange of resources they owned. James R. Perry expands on other significant studies done on early society in Virginia.
The mission of the Delaware State Department of Health is “to protect and enhance the health of the people of Delaware by working together with others; addressing issues that affect the health of Delawareans; keeping track of the state’s health; promoting positive lifestyles; responding to critical health issues and disasters; and promoting the availability of health services”. The mission statement of the Oregon State Department of Health is “to protect and promote the health of all the people of Oregon”. Delaware and Oregon’s mission statements start with the same exact words; they both state that they aim to “protect and promote the people”. In 1585 Englishman traveled to Roanoke Island which they named Virginia. Virginia was colonized in 1607, which makes it the first English colony in the New World that thrived. The Virginia Colony has some popular nicknames. These nicknames were Old Dominion, Mother of Presidents, Mother of States, The Cavalier State, and Mother of Statesman. The Virginia Colony was home to a lot of religious teachings such as Anglicans, Baptist, and others.
The New York colony soil was fertile and great for farming which was the reason the British wanted to remove it from the hands of the Dutch. New York was named after James the Duke of York. The Dutch were the first to settle in New York but then was preccoupied by the English in 1674. When the Dutch occupied New York they called it New Amsterdam.
The New England, middle, Chesapeake, and southern colonies were all colonies located in North America. For this reason many people thought that the colonies were all the same and should be viewed as a single society. This is not the case at all; they were as different as day and night and showed minimal signs of similarity. A society is people in general thought of as living together in organized communities with shared laws, traditions, and values.
The legal status of blacks in early colonial Virginia is a hard issue to grasp and make sense of. It was not easy to determine the legal status of an individual of African descent in colonial Virginia because there were hardly any laws and regulations that were developed upon the arrival of the first group of blacks in 1619,through developing rules and regulation relating to slavery was how the legal status of people of African descent in colonial Virginia began to take place and into effect. It was when these rules and laws were already established was when Virginian colonists began to take notice of the blacks and how they were different, distinguishing them from the rest of the Virginians. In this paper the following issues will be discussed, how the first Africans came to Virginia, the legal status of blacks, how those laws came to be created, and the different type of methods that were used to distinguish blacks from the Virginians.
“Maryland, My Maryland” is a nine- stanza poem written by James Ryder Randall in April 1861. Randall is most remembered for writing this poem, and on account of this he is known as “Poet Laureate of the Lost Cause”. This poem was written in response to the April 19, 1861 shooting of Baltimore civilians who had attacked soldiers from the 6th Massachusetts Infantry as they marched to Washington. At the beginning of the American Civil War specifically, during the secession crisis, President Abraham Lincoln commanded federal troops to be brought to Washington D.C. to protect the capital. As given per the scenario, being a young woman out to venture on my own, one of my key concerns would be safety. What colony will provide for me in security, economically, socially, and and maybe even religiously. Another large factor that comes into question is time. While reading about the early colonizations things changed vastly from one year to the next. These changes were based on wars, climate, political powers/influences, and relationships with nearby natives.
The government of the United States is a massive and complex organization. Its purpose is to improve and protect the lives of American citizens, both at home and overseas. Because its functions are so numerous and varied, the government operates on several different levels--national, state, and local. At each of these levels the government makes certain demands on its citizens. But this is only to promote the general welfare of the society as a whole.

Improvement or preventative may be done with surgery, the administering of medicine, or other alterations in a person 's lifestyle. These services are usually offered through a health care system made up of hospitals and physicians. Although, the health care system is set up to reduce or to prevent disease etc., there is a gap or disparity in the US health care system.
