The United States of America is a mixed-Republic with a representative democracy. The United States is a Constitutional Federal Republic which means it is a federation of states with a representative democracy. Which means U.S is both a Republic and a Democracy. In the United States people democratically select their representative by the power of vote, who then represent them in the government. Federal republic is a state in which the powers of central government are restricted and equally distributed among the component parts e.g. states or provinces.
