Introduction:
The focus of this report will be about Charlemagne, an Emperor of Western Europe and the Education he brought with him. Charlemagne’s rule had a significant impact on the education, economy and political life of Medieval Europe.
Charlemagne:
Charlemagne (742-814) also know as, Charles the Great, was the king of the Franks, from 768-814, and emperor of the West, from 800-814. He was founder of the Holy Roman Empire, stimulated European economic and political life, and fostered the cultural revival known as the Carolingian Renaissance.

Little is known about his childhood, but in 754, he participated in the anointment of Pepin as king by Pope Stephen II. He was educated at the palace school by Fulrad, abbot of St. Den.
After the death of Pepin the short in October 768, Charlemagne came into inheritance. According to an assembly of the Franks, Charlemagne plus his brother, Carloman, were both proclaimed king and were to rule the kingdom together as a Diarchy. But, in the division of the kingdom, Carloman received larger and richer portions
