Italian Renaissance and Humanism.
The renaissance is considered one of the most creative time periods in history and one of the most interesting time periods to look back on. Humanism was an intellectual movement of renaissance Italy. The renaissance is still important today because it has shaped our society into what it is today. The renaissance started a separation of science and church and its effects can still be seen today. The renaissance occurred in a time span of 300 years, from around the year 1300 to the year 1600. The renaissance started in Florence but it quickly spread all throughout Europe. Places where the renaissance spread to had wealth from commerce and trade that were present in the Middle Ages. No one really knows why or how the renaissance began but there are many theories. Some experts believe that the bubonic plague had a big role in starting the renaissance. The bubonic plague spread throughout most Europe during the 1300’s but in the end it brought good changes to business and trading to affected countries

After the Roman Empire fell scientific and scholarly advancements slowed down a great amount. The renaissance also started a more humanist view of the world, people were encouraged to do more scientific research and tinker. “Although religion was still of the greatest influence throughout the period of the Renaissance, the dawning recognition of human potential and scientific inquiry shaped the course of Western history and does still influence contemporary American culture today” The renaissance was the beginning of the end for the church, people started thinking for themselves and didn’t take everything the church said as a fact. Before the renaissance occurred writers would focus on religious issues. All the advances that were made during the
