God the Son
Jesus Christ is the son of God and part of the Holy Trinity. In the Gospel of John 1:1-4, Jesus “… was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him, was life, in that life was the light of men” (NIV). Therefore, Jesus existed with God before the world began. Jesus came to earth as God in the flesh. To Christians, He is their savior and teacher. In the Christian belief, all people are born as sinners who need a savior or they will parish in hell. In John 3:16, Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (NIV). This fact alone makes Him extraordinarily unique. Also, because Jesus Christ is God’s only son, He alone is eternal. Furthermore, Jesus was unique because He miraculously healed people. Matthew 14:35-36 says, “…People brought all their sick to him and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed” (NIV). Scripture says Jesus took time to pray every day to His Father in Heaven. Furthermore Jesus taught Christians how to forgive. In Matthew 6:14-15, ‘“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins”’ (NIV). But His ultimate lesson on forgiveness took place on the cross where he died for the sins of all mankind so that those who believe on him would be forgiven and made right with God. In addition, Jesus taught the disciples that it was important to care for the needy. Jesus was often in the company of the poor, outcasts, sick, and oppressed. In Matthew 20:5, Jesus explained through the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats that for one to enter heaven you must feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, take in the stranger, give close to those who need them, and look after those who are imprisoned and
