Desaray Suazo Mr. Saleeba English IV 12 March 2018 Martin Luther King Jr. The leader I have chosen for this assignment would be Martin Luther king Jr. The question is was he a good leader, or a terrible one? I have decided to show you my reason for why is was a good one. MLK was a Baptist minister and social activist who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. I chose MLK because he is an inspiration, he wanted to show individuals that we are not different because of the color of our skin. He once said “I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Martin Luther king was a great leader, and a role model, that is just my opinion. He used these very skills to his advantage, to influence believers to his cause. He was educated in receiving his Doctorate of Philosophy in Systematic Theology (a form of theology in which the aim is to arrange religious truths in a self-consistent whole) from Boston University. Having strong verbal ability and reasoning appears to one a better leader (Northouse, 2016). The “I have a dream speech” was his famous speech, and a very inspirational one. This speech was delivered during the march on Washington where he called an end for racism, this powerful speech still lives on.
