In 1947, Martin Luther King, Jr wrote that the “The function of education, therefore is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character that is the goal of true education.” This can be interpreted differently but we can all come to a conclusion that education is essential for society and individuals. What I think Martin Luther King Jr is trying to say is intelligence is not enough, people must have good character traits, for our country, and even the world to become better. For example a dangerous criminal could be the smartest man in the world but he wasn’t trained properly so he joins the wrong side of society. Martin Luther King Jr believes that for our world to be improved we must be intelligent and
