Goals and Strategies Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.” (Martin Luther King Jr., 1947) At 30, I could not agree more with Dr. King. His statement is one of the reasons why I am back in school. As I turn over a new leaf in my life, starting all over in school, this is the best decision that I could ever generate. Needless to say, although I have made the conscientious decision to come back, I have discovered that I have a great deal to work on. There are 3 specific challenges that I face but I will not let determine my future. These challenges include; time management, motivation and anxiety. Although these may be current challenges, I have discovered that I have a newfound determination of how to strategize. I will conquer each goal in hopes of gaining knowledge, to be comfortable and confident in the remainder of my time in school.
Goal one: Time Management
First area of improvement would be time, particularly time management. Understanding now that if I started to manage time as to how I managed money and pay close attention to it, that I would be able to spend time in the most effective way I want. I refuse to fail at anything, however I know that isn't realistic so I will just say this, although I may fail, I will not give up. As I continue to have this journey with school, all the challenges I may face will not determine my future. After finding new ways on how to work through challenges and focus on my goals, I am confident that by continuing to strategize I will obtain my dream at becoming a successful leader in the business management
