Although it is not really known around the world, many countries/states have put restrictions on the use of this drug due to its potential of being abused. While the drug does not have many long term effects, if it is not used in moderation, it can be very dangerous and may even result in death.
George “Bugs” Moran: American Gangster George “Bugs” Moran was born on August 21, 1893 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. His real name was Adelard Cunin, with George Moran being one of his most famous criminal aliases(BugsMoran.net). While many believe he was of Irish descent, he was actually Polish. He was born into a family of Polish immigrants and while his mother was very kind to him, Moran’s father was very strict towards him.
The Mirabal sisters, known as “Las Mariposas” or “The Butterflies” wanted to try to overthrow the leader of the country, Trujillo, because they believed he was oppressive and cruel. Because of this, their lives became very dangerous as the government wanted to stop them from achieving their goal. They faced many hardships along the way, from spending time in jail to having government officials drive them around the city. Through the use of perspective, imagery, and point of view, Julia Alvarez proves that individuals may need to give everything they have in order to make a change they believe in. Because this is a novel, Julia Alvarez is able to alternate each chapter from the perspective of one of the sisters, which betters the reader’s understanding of each girl’s
We read several articles about social media. According to Hilary Stout, she believes social media is harming kids today. I disagree with her claim because I believe social media is not the only thing kids are on or using. We still interact with our friends offline and even more so now that we can communicate to each other and plan things through social media. I’m getting my information from the article “ Teenage Social Media Butterflies May Not Be Such a Bad Idea” and my personal opinions/experiences.

This explains the mindset of the dictator of the Dominican Republic shown in the book The Time Of The Butterflies by Julia Alvarez. In this historical fiction book it explain the story of the Mirabal sister in there fight to stop the oppression of Trujillo. It goes though there life story and gives insight to what the conditions were. Trujillo and the Dominican Republic government oppressed the citizens by arresting if you resist them, Machiavellian control and the deplorable conditions these people lived in.

Also how character development is show in the book to the reader and the growing expansion of characters. As in the book you start with mincers and a whole slew of characters that other people or yourself can relate to which shows the rich history to delve into and how how mentioned before of the characters. Also the ambiguous villain of the story known as Trujillo which is the leader of the communist country they live in.
The novel written by Julia Alvarez, In the Time of the Butterflies, is about four sisters: Patria, Dede, Minerva, and Mate Maribal. They live the the Dominican Republic during the presidency of Rafael Trujillo, a ruthless leader. As they grow up, resistance groups start assembling, and the sisters join in hopes of saving their country, while also trying to live their lives. The theme of fighting and also trying to maintain normalcy in life is the best theme in the entire book.

Although the approach was very different, the characteristics within these characters were quite similar. As goes to say, each author had their own perspectives through introducing each characters intentions and feelings.
