Invictus & Mandela: Is it Hollywood or is it History? “It always seems impossible until it's done,” Nelson Mandela(Nelson Mandela Quotes). I watched the movie invictus. I researched on the events, time period, and the people. In this paper I will prove that the film, Invictus, was historically accurate by discussing the true historical people and events, summarizing the movie, and comparing and contrasting how the movie portrayed the true people and events. When Mandela gets to his office he has a meeting with everyone telling them they can all stay and continue working. Mandela goes to a rugby game and gets booed. As the game is going, there is a group of people voting to get rid of the springboks. When Mandela goes for his walk he gets asked about his family and he gets upset. Mandela is trying to get his people to like rugby and the springboks but his daughter doesn't like what he's doing politically. Mandela invites Francois Pienaar for tea and Francis finds out Mandela wants them to win the world cup. Mandela wants the team to go around the country and make kids inspired about rugby. The captain tries to get the team to learn the national anthem. Mandela gives a poem to Francois Pienaar. The springboks moves on to the finals. A plane flies over the arena and wishes the team good luck. Mandela goes down to the field and gets cheered. The springboks sings the national anthem. The game is tied so they have to add more time.
